Description

The BR5/SEM5 Joint Session will focus on updating the industry regarding the “Technical Report for BIMBEM Workflows”, a bSI effort to establish a baseline of knowledge and roadmap for developing effective open standard data exchanges between BIM and BEM tools and workflows throughout the life cycles of projects. The intent is to lay the groundwork for facilitating improved outcomes in energy efficient and sustainable design, delivery, and operation of buildings all over the world. Examples of related Use Case formulation and documentation will be presented to help subject matter experts, project delivery teams, and owners understand the bSI Process and possible data exchange solutions, such as IFC and BCF. Finally, there will be an open discussion regarding the next steps in moving BIM-BEM interoperability efforts forward at bSI and with respective industry partners.
Agenda:
- Review of version 1.2 of report and recommendations for moving forward (Jeffrey Ouellette)
- Use Case documentation example (Mirbek Bekboliev, Gianluca Genova)
- Outline and open discussion of next steps
Target groups: Sustainability Experts, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Building Assessors etc.
