Let’s Do It World (LDIW) is the world’s largest global civic action movement dedicated to raising awareness about and addressing the global waste crisis. It serves as a hub for sharing knowledge and best practices, facilitated through both live conferences and online platforms. It is currently active in 164 countries, generating impact through collective efforts and a bold vision for change.
Through its network, LDIW unites millions of people every year through its key events, including World Cleanup Day (WCD) and Digital Cleanup Day (DCD). Over the years, these initiatives have evolved and been scaled into global movements. Since its inception, LDIW has engaged over 100 million people across seven World Cleanup Days, involving 95% of UN member states in its annual global action. In recognition of its efforts, LDIW received the UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour in 2021 and the UNSDG Mobilization Award in 2023. In 2024, World Cleanup Day was officially added to the UN calendar, a day to be observed annually on September 20th. As such, through large-scale participation, WCD and DCD aim to create lasting change by maximising societal engagement, driving cross-sector cooperation, and accelerating the transition to a sustainable future.
In addition to this, local teams within the LDIW network have capitalised on momentum created from the WCD and DCD initiatives, by launching numerous green projects, focusing on education and waste managements.
