As External Relations Officer for Youth Environment Europe and President of the Youth Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean and Equipo Europa Catalunya, I’ve coordinated projects like Global Dialogues of Climate Justice and A Tree for Europe. I am the general director of the Bioparc Aquarium of Gijón. An institution that has more than 200,000 vistitors each year and that has three very clear objectives: conservation, research and dissemination. From my position in the company, I am very aware of the necessary fight against climate change. We collaborate with more than 30 educational and research institutions. I am a member of the animal welfare committee of Gijón City Council and I am a trustee of the Bioparc Foundation. 

I have several years of study and work experience in tourism, but in recent years I have focused my efforts on NGOs and institutions related to environmental activism, biodiversity protection, citizen participation, and democratic deliberation on climate change and everything that contributes to a just ecosocial transition, using tools such as citizen assemblies on climate, social, cultural and sectoral issues.
 

Carlos is a sustainability enthusiast and a climate change advocate. He strives to contribute to climate dialogues and negotiations to implement highly ambitious goals. He was shocked when he first read an IPCC report and felt responsible to make a change.

Making use of several roles in these fields, Carlos wants to connect and empower people, focusing on those communities where he lives, the United Kingdom and Spain, to not only share ideas but to bring them to reality.

I am a policy analyst currently working on climate geopolitics and adaptation. My work bridges research, policy & communication to make analyses of climate challenges accessible to diverse audiences. My experience spans 5+ years, co-developing coastal adaptation projects in Senegal, supporting Spain's Presidency of the EU Council during international climate negotiations, co-developing (sectoral) transition pathways at the EU Commission and conduct research at Elcano Royal Institute.

As an Ambassador, I will:

- inform with scientific evidence about the climate situation on my social media

- give talks in public places such as schools and other centers

- organize events such as plastic collections and tree plantations

- make recipes with sustainable food and without waste

- inform how to preserve the biodiversity of land and ocean

As an ambassador, I will share all my knowledge on the Climate Pact aims, including those attained as IPCC AR5 LA and IPCC AR6 CLA. My research is very close to the topic, which I will also share not only to my peers but also to the society through events and workshops.

Alicia Carrasco has been promoting a consumer centric energy transition since 2010 when she founded Smart EN. She has worked in the areas of new energy business models as Regulatory Affairs Director for Digital Grid at Siemens, European Government Director Affairs at Tesla and today as CEO of energy transition strategic consulting firm olivoENERGY and Executive Director and founder of entra Agregación y Flexibility. She identifies opportunities out of climate change and electrification actions.

I am a climate change activist involved in various forums and expert groups with a focus on innovation and climate change to catalyse systemic transformation. My activities will focus on accelerating scalable and sustainable solutions through workshops educational activities climate innovation projects and seminars that promote a change of mindset in the way we live we move we consume and we produce taking into account the different perspectives of all stakeholders.

As a pediatrician, mother, and activist, I will advocate for children’s rights and vulnerability in the face of climate change. We must place child health and caregiving at the center of public policies. Children cannot decide, so it is our duty—as professionals, adults, and citizens—to act and take responsibility.

Support the European Climate Pact with specific actions that I can carry out in my local environment based on behavioral changes. Specially I am motivated to perform engagement activities to raise awareness with first-hand actions: learning by doing and built on current social communities turned into local "climate action" communities. Actions I would like to carry out, will always look for an easy and quick replicability throughout Europe and the use of open science practices is a must.

As a Climate Pact Ambassador, my goal is to change the way in which issues of “Climate Change” are publically perceived, changing the cognitive focus from power politics to the everyday life. I will create valuable media resources that emphasise the need for intersectional climate integration into different fields such as healthcare, risk advisory, amongst others. As well, I hope to strengthen European international collaboration by establishing ties with Latin American Climate Groups in the Amazon Region, providing different articles on ways in which strengthening global relations is crucial to green development in the EU sphere.

I am a renewable energy specialist and firmly believe we must democratize access to sustainable energy for all citizens.
