Lucense 1923 is a cooperative and benefit company dedicated to creating lasting environmental, social and economic value for its members and local communities. Its mission is to promote the shared production and responsible consumption of renewable energy, foster inclusive development, reduce inequalities such as energy poverty, and support the local green transition.

The organisation implements community energy projects, develops collective infrastructure such as photovoltaic plants, delivers capacity-building programmes, and runs outreach campaigns to raise awareness and encourage sustainable practices.

Operating through a participatory governance model, Lucense 1923 ensures that members contribute to decision-making and benefit equitably from its initiatives. It engages a wide range of stakeholders, including citizens, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), associations, local institutions, civil society organisations and knowledge partners, to drive a community-led energy transition, support the EU’s climate and sustainability objectives, and promote sustainable local development.
