REFLEX Environmental Association

REFLEX Environmental Association was founded in 1987 in Hungary. It cooperates with municipalities, institutions, citizens, schools and NGOs, and has been involved in several national and EU-funded projects over the past decades.

One of Reflex's most important tasks has been to educate people about the environment, to raise awareness and to provide environmental counselling for inhabitants. For students, Reflex organises campaigns, competitions, environmental days, thematic days and summer camps for Reflex's educational centre in the village of Pápateszér. Reflex regularly visit schools in Győr and its surroundings to give lectures and organise exhibitions on environmental protection and nature conservation.

Another priority for Reflex is the greening of towns and villages, which is not only part of the environmental education activities but also part of the cooperation with municipalities. Its World Trees programme helps municipalities and communities to plant trees locally, while its Climate Star programme rewards good practices of municipalities in climate change mitigation and adaptation. To raise awareness, REFLEX has produced numerous printed and online publications, awareness-raising materials and professional guides, not only for schools and teachers but for local decision-makers and municipal staff.
