I will help spread awareness about climate change. As a privileged person, because of where I was born, I want not only me but also my children to step on green grass with their bare feet one day in the season when grass is supposed to grow. I want as many people as possible to understand the seriousness of the situation and understand why it is so important. Without increased awareness, nothing will change.

As Executive Director of the leading European railway association in Brussels, I will advocate rail as the backbone of zero-carbon mobility in Europe. In order to achieve an absolute greenhouse gas emission reduction target of 30% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels, and at the same time realise expected modal shift to rail, we will contribute to a wider debate on climate action. Railways took the opportunity provided by the European Year of Rail in 2021 to act as a Clean Mobility Ambassador.

I will use my position to engage citizens and communities in action for our climate and environment. Act locally, think globally and above all, transmit simple and practical ways to be more caring and respectful with our environment.

My commitment to the environment and sustainable development is preceded by my 20 years of public service. Climate change is a challenge that requires a global response acting from the local level under the principle of sub-division of the EU. Being an ambassador is an honor that allows us to create networks of committed people and create synergies in which we address different actions in favor of the environment and the climate.

El cambio climático es un reto que necesita de una respuesta global actuando desde lo local bajo el principio de subisdiariedad de la UE. Ser embajador es un honor que nos permite crear redes de personas comprometidas y crear sinergias en las que abordamos diferentes acciones en favor del medio ambiente y el clima.

The Free State of Saxony has a long tradition as an energy region with two lignite mining regions, the Lausitz region and the Central German region. By discontinuing lignite power generation by the end of 2038 at the latest, the region is making a major contribution to European climate targets. At the same time, there are energy-related and socio-economic challenges that are faced with great innovation and development potential. I would like to talk about this as an ambassador.

My mission is to advocate the role of libraries as models and leaders of sustainability inside of their own communities and to promote the ecoliteracy as a standard library service. For this mission, I participate in professional conferences with contacts in these fields. My main motivation is taking care of unique our Earth. In addition to participating in conferences, my activities include the promotion of actions as creating gardens in libraries, seed libraries, repair cafés.

I am a human rights activist and lawyer, whose main focus is environmental law and sustainability. One of my core interests is the environmental damage caused by Russian warfare in Ukraine, including the increased amount of greenhouse gas emissions. I am dedicated to informing Latvian society on this as well as other issues regarding the climate crisis and environmental collapse and am not afraid to actively take part in protests as well. 

I am coordinating research activities and pilot projects on climate change and internal migration/mobility in Italy.

Climate change is an urgent issue we must tackle with pragmatism and political vision. As local administrator, I have worked to promote and launch pilot initiatives on circular economy that have then become grounded projects on recycle and reuse practices. Drawing lessons from this successful experience, today I still work on initiatives aimed at cutting air pollution, promoting a more environmental-friendly way of living and consuming, as well as EU-funded projects on sustainable local mobility

European Climate Pact Ambassador representing the European Committee of the Regions in Italy

I am climatologist and glaciologist, president of the Italian Meteorological Society (established in 1865) and editor in chief of the scientific journal Nimbus. I teach climatic change and sustainability in Italian schools and universities, I write articles on newspapers, participate in TV programs about environmental issues, make public conferences (more than 3000 in the last 30 years), write both scientific books and popular ones, even comics on global warming. I live in a passive solar energy house located in the Italian western Alps, I drive an electric car charged by solar panels on my roof, I grow my vegetable, recycle all my waste and try to communicate that living within planetary boundaries is possible. I will continue this activities as EU Ambassador.

Sono un ragazzo di 30 anni da sempre impegnato nel sociale, mi interesso di attualità, politica e ambiente.Sono mosso da passione e determinazione in ogni azione che svolgo, e quando intraprendo un nuovo percorso sono sempre propositivo e fiducioso che possa aiutare il prossimo, voglio battermi per il mio pianeta e per l'ambiente attraverso il confronto con gli altri Ambasciatori e portando proposte concrete.

I am a young man of 30 years old who has always been involved in social work, I am interested in current affairs, politics and the environment. I am moved by passion and determination in every action I take, and when I take a new path I am always proactive and confident that it can help others. I want to fight for my planet and the environment through confrontation with other Ambassadors and bringing concrete proposals.

We handle a wide range of topics, but will certainly focus on climate adaptation: de-hardening, water, bring biodiversity into the heart of (resilient) cities.

We see our role as climate ambassador to inspire people to take climate actions, why it is necessary and why it shoudn't be a hassle to do so. On a local scale we are a rather big organisation with a climate convinced crowd of 3,000 members, now it is time to seduce and embrace the many others! 

Hlib Mikhno is a young professional in the fields of public policy and sustainability, currently working in Brussels for European institutions to promote policies towards climate neutrality and energy transformation, as well as the EU integration process. Hlib has four years of experience in policy analysis and project management within public and private sectors, and international organisations. Hlib Mikhno has organised and actively contributed to various climate-related activities with partners including the European Commission, the European External Action Service, the European Parliament, King's College London and University of Toronto. Recently, Hlib participated in the high-level youth policy dialogues with the Executive Vice President for the European Green Deal and the Commissioner for the Environment.

As a Climate Pact Ambassador, I am deeply committed to driving positive change in the realm of climate action. With a background in organising workshops and lectures on climate change awareness, I am eager to expand my reach and impact as an Ambassador. My goal is to inspire and equip individuals and communities with practical tools to reduce their carbon footprint and embrace a zero-waste lifestyle. Additionally, I will continue my collaborations with environmental non-profit organisations, further amplifying our collective efforts in climate action and conservation. Through my website and social media platforms, I aim to disseminate informative content on sustainable practices, empowering a wider audience to join the movement. Moreover, I am dedicated to advocating for conscious travel, striving to leave a positive impact on the places I visit. And next year between January and February I will undertake a big trip all focused on sustainability.

I feel strongly about the topics of decarbonization, energy transformation and energy efficiency and also as a part of a large organization - Siemens Energy, I fully support EU Fit for 55 plan. I will contribute by using my network to raise understanding of energy solutions for a sustainable future. Energy is an essential part of our lives and it is our responsibility to use environmental-friendly technologies that will respond to needs of the energy market as well as preserve the planet.

As a Climate Pact ambassador I plan to raise awareness on climate change at a local, national and EU level reaching out to institutions and public authorities people and businesses. I plan to help organizing events that promote taking action on Climate change. My goal is to make an impact and create positive change as well to educate as people and communities so they can take action too.

I am a scientist working on the sector coupling between the transport and power system and an advocate of the SDGs. The Climate Pact Ambassador network is a brilliant opportunity to learn, inspire, empower and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders working in the field of sustainability and climate change. Developing technical solutions for sustainable mobility and clean energy generation, raising awareness and spreading knowledge about sustainability are amongst my immediate interests.

During my research career, I have always been trying to investigate on reducing the impact on the environment of human activity in telecommunications within the framework of several EU projects. Recently, I moved towards a more multidisciplinary paradigm, including different fields which will be predominantly from the energy consumption perspective in the next future, such as computing and AI. In fact, it is estimated that data-centre and AI processing will boost the energy consumption of the ICT ecosystem due to the data-tsunami we are generating with many new addictive data-hungry services. Moreover, I am collaborating in my neighbourhood with the Energetix group for fostering consciousness around the CO2 footprint of electric energy usage, for mitigating energy poverty and for implementing more environmentally-friendly practices.
