Unfortunately, the European food sector is one of the major contributors to climate change. As a business leader in the fields of AgTech and food systems, I have spent the last eight years building a purpose-driven venture with showed leadership in ecological intelligence, entrepreneurship, innovation and the way technology could be applied to aid the transition to a more sustainable model for agriculture and food production. I am planning to continue my mission of sharing insights and educating the public sector participants, consumers, other business leaders and the next generation, those who are just starting their journey in life – school and university students. Being a European Climate Pact Ambassador is a privilege that significantly amplifies my ability to communicate with a broader audience on vital issues affecting humanity.

My name is Anastasios Kotsiras and I am a creative content designer and animator, living in Athens Greece.

I am also a young parent, and that was the main reason for me to use my knowledge and specialties in creating the eco-educational project "Save your Planet".

In the process of creating the project, I got involved in the environmental issues, the problems of our planet, and how to save our planet.

I use my skills to create a project aesthetically friendly for kids and their parents.

My professional experience includes various communication, research, and project management roles across multiple European countries, including Greece, Iceland, Poland, and Germany. I have collaborated with notable international organizations such as NATO, the European Commission, and Defense Industry Europe.

As an ambassador for the European Climate Pact in Greece, a part of the European Green Deal, I have actively participated in numerous advocacy campaigns and citizen empowerment initiatives across Europe. This involvement has allowed me to collaborate with esteemed organizations such as the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum, the European Committee of the Regions, and the Mediterranean Youth Council.

At the same time, I have actively participated in high-level EU policy dialogues with Frans Timmermans, the Executive Vice President of the European Commission, and Virginijus Sinkevicius, the Commissioner for Environment, in Brussels. I also met with Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, the President of Iceland, in Reykjavik to discuss the significant role of youth and citizen participation.

Lastly, regarding my academic background, I hold a Bachelor's degree in International Business Management and I am pursuing a Master's degree in Human Resources Management and a Law degree. This diverse range of educational pursuits has given me a wealth of knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of various fields, which I can apply to my professional endeavours.

I will focus on developing systematic education for young people on environmental topics through the creation of educational videos for schools. However, I will continue to address the general public on these subjects, through my social networks, which I plan to expand with video interviews revealing greenwashing and discussing the commitments of both small and large companies.

As EAERE president-elect, EIT Climate KIC HUB director, UN SDSN Europe co-chair, I will act as an ambassador for the Climate Pact and advocate for active participation of "all parts of society" - researchers, innovators and technology developers, enterprises, workers, consumers and citizens and their organizations- for mobilizing the transition to climate neutrality and the implementation of the EGD and the UN SDGs.

I believe that food is tied to many aspects of life. Food is a political act and a solid social institution. Food is a cultural matter after all. I would like to write a new narrative about the way we eat because it affects our roots, our ground, and our future.  

I am an eco activist from Latvia. I am a lecturer and a head of eco council at RISEBA University. The main mission of an educator is to share knowledge and inspire the younger generation to develop and implement it,  but more importantly, inspire them towards action. 

Hey, My name is Veronika Kralova and I'm from the Czech Republic. I study at the Faculty of Law in Prague and I work at the Academy of Sciences at the Centre for Climate Law and Sustainability. I'm one of the founders of Mater Nostra, a University association that focuses on the climate crisis as well as feminism and LGBTQ+ rights.

As an ambassador, I will be spreading awareness about the climate crisis by organizing events and creating workshops. Moreover, I will be educating myself by attending workshops and lectures organised by the Climate Pact.

I act as a vice-rector for International Cooperation at Bialystok University of Technology and a Head of Department of Sustainable Construction and Building Systems. I focus on international and interdisciplinary projects related to sustainable development of the building and energy sectors, green infrastructure and continuous changes in cities. I am actively engaged in actions addressed at the young generations in solution areas helpful in the fight against climate change. I plan future projects and publications in this area as well as organisation of and participation in various events, including conferences, workshops and discussion panels that create platforms that are indispensable for sharing information, experiences and the creation new ideas. I believe that working together in an interdisciplinary and international environment, we will achieve our intended goals.

As a former youth politician, architect, philosopher, and most recently professor of Life and Society, I have a wide range of academic, political, scientific and professional experiences and knowledge on the topics of sustainable development. I pursue an inter- and multidisciplinary approach that is driven by the passion to analyse and understand complex topics and design meaningful solutions to these challenges. I was also chairman of numerous associations and initiatives, a member of many national and international high state councils, and a Luxembourg representative at numerous political and academic conferences.

My planned activities as a climate ambassador, in addition to cooperative and international exchange with other ambassadors, are lobbying and raising awareness for social and political sustainability concepts and the development of information and motivation strategies for necessary, sustainable transformation processes.

My name is Raffael, I am 28 years old and based in Berlin, Germany. I hold a BA in Political Sciences and currently study the MSc. Integrated Natural Resource Management at Humboldt-University. I am interested in holistic system management, revealing structural patterns of power and oppression and enabling open discourse spaces to debate and solute problems of complexity. These are also my main motivations for becoming a EU-CPA, to share my knowledge in such and empower while advocating for EU-CP.

Climate change is a challenge and a chance at the same time. I strongly believe that a better world is possible and everyone need to take action. This is the reason why I want to spread awareness, and interact with people all around the globe.

I am particularly interested in sustainable development, circular economy, and cradle to cradle.

Calmly, slowly without rushing, how difficult it is to have faith into the human condition. In the crumpled air in non-human cages the best motherland of a citizen is still the Earth, all that has a beginning and an end, which as you know is life.

I believe in arts and science as intertwined for a possible future of the human race; I believe in the human being and in the possibility of deepening knowledge to educate us to collect and enhance our thoughts, emotions, ideas, projects thus having a positive impact on the environment as much at the level of nature as at the level of relationships.

I am Rishi Kumar, a policy officer at DG CLIMA, dedicated to the Green Deal's multilateral efforts. With a background in international relations, my focus is on sustainability. My journey spans from grassroots community engagement to NGOs, municipalities, and the European Commission.

I write articles to share climate knowledge, bridging information gaps for individuals and communities. On social media, I connect EU policies with scientific evidence, emphasising the urgency of climate action and showcasing initiatives. When I present at Dutch schools, I engage young students. Participation in international conferences provides me a global platform to underscore the importance of climate action, I will present encouraging solutions and actions, and encourage global commitment to combat climate change.

My focus is on translating the challenge and solutions from distance fields in something close at heart for people with all different background can relate towards.

In my role as European Climate Pact Ambassador, over the next year I wish to dedicate my work to the further development of a strong community of devoted individuals who are ready to take action against climate change. As a leader of the local hub of Klíma ťa potrebuje, I will organise community gatherings that bring together local activists, and facilitate conversations on a variety of subjects for students and the general public. I intend to reach those with low levels of climate awareness by organising events in public areas of the city. I would like to use my wide network of local active people in the fields of art, culture, city development and community programmess to spread awareness about the European Climate Pact and relevant topics. One of them is the topic of sustainable food which I can focus on thanks to the Shared Green Deal project. 

Aristea Kyriakou is an enthusiastic international teacher, researcher and academic, who has gained with distinctions a postdoc, a PhD (Onassis Foundation Scholar), an MRes, an MSc and a Bachelors, all in Education Sciences, with expertise in Outdoor Environmental Education, Curriculum Design and School Grounds.

Aristea is the Director and co-founder of the non-profit European Outdoor Education Hub, with which they run school projects around Europe. She considers herself a European citizen – given that she has lived, worked and studied in Sweden (Linköping University), Scotland (University of Aberdeen) and Switzerland (Education First), apart from Greece (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).

Aristea keeps working at an international level providing insightful, engaging and inspiring presentations, delivering workshops, leading and supporting school communities in their journey to use more sustainable living practices.

I am a teacher, promoter of international projects in my school in Sicily, recognised as an Ambassador by the EP, and I am the senior Ambassador for coordinating the programme. I am also the contact person for Erasmus projects for AN Indire and I have carried out 15 Erasmus projects of which three have just been approved on the environment topic, with 3 partnerships in 18 schools from various European countries. I love the environment and nature is the main focus of my personal life and as an educator. 

I am journalist by profession. After 10 years experience in reporting on environmental topics, I changed my career to the non-governmental sector and became the project manager of aclimate awareness raising project, based on gamification methods. It was a job I felt very passionate about, because in my daily life I try to  minimise my personal impact on the climate: I live without a car or driving license, I refuse to fly (for international travels, I take trains), my diet is vegetarian and I am a passionate clothes and things swapper. I am really pleased to join others who also fight for a greener, more natural environment and see what we can do together. 

I currently work at Transition Minett a.s.b.l. (https://www.transition-minett.lu/) as facilitator for people's engagement and participation in the social and ecological transition in the Minett region (south of Luxembourg). I am motivated to learn more about the Climate Pact and its implications for local stakeholders, to apply its tools and knowledge to help local stakeholders apply appropriate frameworks in there own projects for transition. As a Climate Ambassador, I will support the development of community gardening activities in the area where I work. I will also support the development of new initiatives of local communities for transition (for example a project of a community house for sustainability in a local neighbourhood). I will share my experiences as a Climate Pact ambassador with my colleagues at Transition Minett and with all the local groups I support.
