Description

The cross-border nature of climate change and a growing European identity among EU citizens has inspired the Climate Pact Secretariat to host the Transnational Peer Parliament .
The Transnational Peer Parliament will gather people from across Europe. Four high-level speakers will deliver a keynote speech on the importance of civic participation in the green transition:
- Bart Somers, Mayor of Mechelen, Minister of Interior Affairs, integration and living together in diversity Flanders, and former President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe in the European Committee of the Regions, BELGIUM
- Dr. Amélia M Delgado, Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development Universidade do Algarve, PORTUGAL
- Caroline O’Doherty, Environment Correspondent at the Irish Independent, IRELAND
- Jussi Knuuttila, European Green Capital 2021 Lahti, Environmental Producer, FINLAND
Afterwards you will have a chance to share your thoughts and ideas on how to tackle challenges related to mobility, consumption and energy. The interactive breakout rooms will be moderated by the Climate Pact Country Coordinators.
