EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal (EUYC:GD) is a European cultural and education project launched in March 2022 and running year-round in 12 European countries and beyond. It focuses on young people and future generations, using film and discussion to promote sustainability and climate action in an engaging and accessible way.
The project curates a collection of environmental films subtitled in 13 European languages and shown in cinemas in over 40 cities, as well as on its own streaming platform. Screenings are complemented by guest talks, workshops and discussions, as well as practical teaching materials for schools, supported by targeted communication activities.
EUYC:GD aims to build a community of environmentally aware and responsible young people who understand today’s climate challenges and feel empowered to act. It encourages everyday green habits and active participation in the transition towards a more sustainable future.
The programme – including the streaming platform, school cinema screenings, expert discussions and film events – is free for registered school classes, and is designed to spark dialogue between generations about climate and nature protection across Europe.
