The MERLIN Academy

The MERLIN project helps restore freshwater ecosystems across Europe by putting nature‑based solutions (NbS) into everyday practice.

Its dedicated online learning platform – MERLIN Academy – is open to anyone interested in freshwater and wetland restoration. It features four interactive modules with expert‑led sessions, reading materials, graphics, guidance documents and quizzes. After completing a module, you’ll receive a certificate.

The modules cover key topics such as: implementing restoration; stakeholder engagement and governance; financing NbS; and scaling up restoration across Europe.

The MERLIN Academy also includes a Knowledge Centre with scientific publications, manuals, datasets, tools and training resources, as well as a library of webinars and podcasts offering insights from leading experts and on‑the‑ground restoration projects.
