ENERGIZE – review of existing energy communities

The ENERGIZE project aims to accelerate the shift to clean energy transition across Europe’s industrial zones. By promoting collaborative energy models, it aims to cut CO₂ emissions, boost energy efficiency and strengthen sustainable skills and job opportunities.

This evidence review brings together insights from over 60 energy community initiatives across Europe, offering a clear picture of governance models, financing structures and community engagement methods.

The review also discusses key success factors and provides a solid empirical foundation ideal for informing policies, strategies and programmes linked to community energy.
