V Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Portugal 2026

The V Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Portugal 2026 is a national, youth-led event organised by Youth Climate Leaders, open to young people aged 18–35 from across Portugal. It follows a hybrid, multi-phase format: four online training workshops (19, 21, 26 and 28 August), focused this year on the ACE (Action for Climate Empowerment) and Gender negotiation agendas, followed by an in-person day in Lisbon on 29 August combining a workshop, simulations and networking.

The central objective of the in-person day is the collective drafting of the National Youth Climate Letter, which channels young people's priorities into the YOUNGO process ahead of COP31.

The European Climate Pact supports this activity through its national Ambassadors, who facilitate the youth working tables where the letter is drafted, and through co-funding of catering for the in-person day.

The event is structured around four thematic pillars: Youth Voices, Civic Participation, Climate Empowerment, and Gender and Climate.
