As part of the SPACE initiative, partner organization KC Priestor will transform a garden area into a new outdoor community space that will function both as a public garden and as a visible example of climate adaptation in practice. The space will demonstrate how urban greenery can improve the quality of public spaces, support environmental resilience, and strengthen community connections in the face of climate change and rising temperatures.
The first edition of the activity will bring together volunteers to plant greenery and carry out landscaping works, actively involving local residents in the creation of the space. Through hands-on participation, attendees will learn about the importance of green infrastructure, community resilience, and local adaptation strategies.
The event will also highlight how the European Union and the European Climate Pact support climate action initiatives that help communities become more sustainable, resilient, and better prepared for future environmental challenges.
