Satellite event: The Role of the Railway Industry in Just Transition

Pur si Simplu Verde and the Center for Leadership and Innovation (SNSPA) organize an event that focuses on the critical role of the railway industry in ensuring a Just Transition toward a greener economy. It will bring together trade union leaders, railway industry representatives (both public and private), NGOs, and international financial institutions to discuss policies, investments, and strategies needed for a fair and sustainable shift in the transport sector.

The discussion is inspired by the AdJUST project and insights from interviews conducted with trade union leaders as part of a Horizon-funded initiative on Just Transition. Key topics include:

1. How the railway industry can contribute to the energy transition
2. Policies and investments required to modernize railway infrastructure
3. The social and economic impact of the transition on railway workers
4. Strategies to ensure a fair transition without mass job losses

The event will feature a panel discussion and an interactive Q&A session with the audience.
