This event has ended.
The project has two main objectives:
- For participants to understand the factors that contribute to climate change and the cause and effect between them, especially regarding their impact to health.
- To mobilise participants for individual and collective action regarding the climate crisis.
The project will take place on April 20th with a total duration of 4 hours, and will consist of 3 main parts:
- The first part will be a speech on the need for climate education for medical students by a professor of the “Environment and Health” elective subject of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine.
- The second part will be the Climate Fresk workshop, delivered by the facilitators of Climate Fresk Greece. The workshop has three phases. The first phase consists in discovering and linking the cards by cause-consequence relationships to build the Fresk as explained in the IPCC reports. The second phase is creative: the participants decorate the Fresk and choose a title. The last phase is a debrief enabling a discussion about players' feelings, positions, questions and both individual and collective solutions.
- The third part will be a presentation of and consultation on the Policy Document on Climate Change of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations, facilitated by members of the Local Committee of Thessaloniki of HelMSIC.
