Satellite event: European Climate Pact Going Local Talk: The future of agriculture in Puglia between climate challenges and support from the new CAP

Interested in knowing more about the nexus between climate action and agricultural policy in Europe? Come and join us at the next "Climate Pact Going Local talk" with many of our Ambassadors in the Puglia region as well as key experts in the field.

The event is organised under the leadership of Loredana Capone, President of the Regional Government of Puglia, Italy, member of the European Committee of the Regions and European Climate Pact Ambassador.

It will aim at:

  • Disseminate the initiative and work carried out by President Capone on the Draft Legislative Opinion of the European Committee of the Regions: "Strengthen farmers' position in the agri-food supply chain"
  • Discuss with civil society, non-governmental organizations and trade associations in the agricultural sector about the effects of climate issues on the agri-food sector in Puglia, in particular with regard to the water crisis.
  • Discussion on possible forms of support for a more sustainable agriculture in the new post-2027 Common Agricultural Policy.
