Satellite event: Clean Up initiative on Earth Day

Join us on Monday the 22nd April for a representative cleanup event at the Luxembourg City to raise awareness on keeping our environment clean and to celebrate the ‘Earth Day 2024’, to be organised by the EU Climate Pact Ambassadors of Luxembourg!

On April 22nd at 15:00pm in Gare area (Luxembourg city) we’re coming together to celebrate Earth Day by conducting a cleanup of our beloved city. The exact meeting point is in front of the CCSS building in rue de Hollerich (right here). This cleanup initiative is part of a global movement to protect our environment and promote sustainability.

Why Earth Day matters?

  • Earth’s vitality: Our planet is facing numerous environmental challenges, from climate change to biodiversity loss. Earth Day serves as a reminder of the urgent need to protect our natural resources.
  • Sustainable living: Earth Day encourages individuals and communities to adopt more sustainable practices in their daily lives, such as reducing waste and consumption while supporting eco-friendly initiatives.
  • Community: It brings people together from all walks of life to work towards a common goal of environmental conservation. It’s an opportunity to connect with others who share a passion for protecting our planet.

EU Climate Pact ambassadors

EU Climate Pact Ambassadors inform, inspire and support the shaping up of the climate policy and corresponding actions in their communities and beyond through their networks.

We are currently 22 Ambassadors representing Luxembourg under the EU Climate Pact Ambassadorship Initiative and working collectively with around 900 Ambassadors across all 27 EU Member States for exchanging best practices.

The aim of the EU Climate Pact is to create a citizens’ movement around a common cause building a more sustainable, resilient and just Europe. Launched by the European Union as part of the EU Green Deal, the Climate Pact aims to support the realisation of the EU goal of being the first carbon neutral continent by 2050.
