The final seminar of the project “Prato Valentino 2050: Participatory Planning for the Tourism of Tomorrow” will present the main research activities, methodologies and results developed within the project, focusing on sustainable tourism, climate adaptation and participatory territorial governance in mountain areas.
The event will take place in a hybrid format (in person and online via WebEx) and will include academic presentations, interdisciplinary discussion and stakeholder engagement activities. The seminar aims to foster dialogue between researchers, local institutions and practitioners on the future of Alpine tourism in the context of socio-ecological transition and climate change.
Particular attention will be devoted to participatory planning practices, community-based tourism and adaptation strategies for fragile mountain territories. Among the invited speakers, Monica Bernardi — researcher in the project and European Climate Pact Ambassador - will deliver a presentation entitled “Climate, Territories and Tourism: The Socio-Ecological Transition of Mountain Areas”, addressing the interconnections between climate change, local development and sustainable tourism governance.
