This event marks the launch of “The Brainiac’s Book of the Climate and Weather” by Rosie Cooper. Presented here in its first Romanian edition, this educational project aims to bring climate literacy closer to everyday experience, especially for children, parents, and educators. Instead of using abstract data or distant scenarios, the event offers a hands-on format. It features interactive activities, simple scientific experiments, and guided discussions. These allow participants to explore how climate systems work, how they differ from weather, and why these distinctions matter. The book is not just a reading object but a practical tool that encourages observation, questioning, and experimentation.
The event also creates a space for dialogue between participants and climate educators, including representatives and collaborators from organisations active in environmental education. It is complemented by a dedicated session for older children (12–17), within a newly launched environmental book club format, extending the learning experience beyond the event itself.
Organised by Editura Seneca — the first “green” publishing house in Romania and part of Asociatia SNK, a partner of the European Climate Pact — the event contributes to the Pact’s mission of bringing individuals, communities, and organisations together to raise awareness, share knowledge, and support meaningful climate action at a local level.
By combining education, play, and critical thinking, the event aims to transform climate awareness from a distant concern into an accessible, engaging, and participatory experience.
