Fifth Wheat Festival - Preservation and promotion of "Secria" soft wheat

The three-day event allows visitors to relive the ancient tradition of threshing and making flour and bread with an ancient grain called "Secria," which helps safeguard the area's biodiversity.

  • Training and workshops

The first day will feature a conference entitled "Preservation and Promotion of "Secria" Soft Wheat," with various experts and representatives of local and regional institutions, as well as EU Climate Pact Ambassador Dr. Rosario Previtera, who will discuss the topic of "BIODIVERSITY AND CLIMATE CHANGE."

This will focus on ancient grain or fruit varieties, now being revived as niche crops or at risk of extinction.

These varieties may prove resistant to global warming and resilient to its direct and indirect effects, as is the case with the ancient grain varieties "Secria" and "Rosia."
