Join us on 9 May for a free public Europe Day event at the Energy Discovery Centre (Energia Avastuskeskus), combining learning, discussion and creative hands-on activity.
The event will begin with a guided visit to the environmental exhibition Let’s Hit Zero, where participants will explore key topics related to waste, reuse, responsible consumption and circular economy. During the tour, we will also introduce how these everyday themes connect to European policies, including the European Green Deal and the EU Circular Economy Action Plan, helping participants understand how EU sustainability goals relate to daily life. The format is interactive and informal. Rather than a traditional lecture, the exhibition visit invites questions, reflection and discussion. Participants will also take part in a fun Europe Day quiz, offering a light and engaging way to learn more about Europe, EU environmental action and sustainability topics.
After the tour, the programme continues with the creative workshop “Shards Bring Happiness”, where participants will make unique jewellery from broken ceramic pieces. The workshop introduces reuse in a practical way and encourages participants to reflect on how small choices can help reduce waste and support more responsible use of resources.
The event aims to raise awareness about circular economy, make EU climate and sustainability topics more understandable, and inspire participants to see how individual actions connect with broader European goals. At the same time, it offers a welcoming way to celebrate Europe Day through participation, creativity and shared discussion.
