Europe Day in Jesi: Climate Pact Activities engage citizens and students with the EU

Celebrate Europe Day 2026 in Jesi! Join the European Climate Pact for a day of history and action, featuring a European Parliament simulation and the inauguration of the "Europe Path" to connect citizens with the future of the EU.

  • Campaign launches

Jesi The "Europe Day 2026" will be organized into three main parts, with young people constantly playing the role of protagonists.

Morning: European Parliament Simulation In the council hall of the Municipality of Jesi, thanks to the collaboration with the "Young European Federalists" and the "European Federalist Movement", a simulation of the European Parliament will take place.

The initiative, which has been held in Jesi for years on the occasion of Europe Day, will allow high school students of the city to engage by putting themselves in the shoes of Members of the European Parliament. Participants will have to discuss and reach a consensus to approve official documents, just as if they were in Brussels.

The Afternoon: David Sassoli Park Activities will continue at "David Sassoli Park", in collaboration with numerous local organizations and all the high schools in the city. "Giacomo Mosca", in his role as European Ambassador for the Climate Pact, will moderate the event, coordinating the interventions and delivering the institutional greetings of the Pact. During the afternoon, two new stars dedicated to "Sofia Corrado" and "Luciano Bolis", key figures in the growth of the European Union, will be unveiled.

The goal is to transform the area into an "open-air educational park" with a European theme: in addition to the already existing European benches, the annual addition of new stars - in a "Walk of Fame" style - enhances the cultural and informative value of the place. To facilitate access to the content, "two totems" will be installed: one at the entrance and one near the stars.

Through specific "QR codes", citizens will be able to access descriptions of the installations, explore the importance of European citizenship, and learn about the history of the personalities being commemorated, with a particular focus on David Sassoli, to whom the park was dedicated a few years ago. All activities are carried out in collaboration with the "Youth Information Center" of Jesi and the local point of the "Europe Direct" network, inaugurated simultaneously with the park.

On May 14: Erasmus Day On May 14, Jesi will host for the first time the "Erasmus Day", an event that will once again see the young people of the city as main actors. The meeting, moderated at 5:30 PM by city councilor Giacomo Mosca, will be preceded by an exhibition set up in the gallery adjacent to the Convention Hall. In this exhibition space, students from all high schools will be able to showcase the work they have done during their experiences abroad with the Erasmus program. Each institution will customize its contribution based on the experiences lived and the different sensitivities and project initiatives developed over the years.
