Saturday 9 May is Europe Day!
Each year on this date we mark the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration – a milestone that laid the foundations for peace, integration and cooperation across Europe. It is a moment to reflect on what brings Europeans together, and to engage people from across the Union in shaping a shared, sustainable future.
This year marks 40 years since the first official Europe Day celebrations and the public use of the EU flag and anthem. To mark the occasion, EU institutions in Brussels will open their doors to the public, inviting everyone to explore their premises and discover how the EU works in practice.
And right across the continent, the European Climate Pact is working together with European Commission country representations and local partners to organise a series of events that celebrate EU values and spur on climate action.
Watch out for one of the following actions in your country:
- Climate Pact stand at Europe Day open day (Belgium)
- Climate Pact booth (Czech Republic)
- Climate Pact seminar and community conversation on sustainable and affordable housing (Estonia)
- Guided visit and workshop on circular economy at the Energy Discovery Center (Estonia)
- Live-streamed event ‘Planting Seeds for Change: Celebrating Climate Action on Europe Day’ (Greece)
- Climate Pact exhibition, quizzes and games at Europe Day 2026 in Budapest (Hungary)
- Kleistu Forest cleanup and picnic (Latvia)
- Climate Pact booth (Luxembourg)
- Climate Benches (Portugal)
- Climate Pact booth and interactive workshops (Slovakia)
The European Climate Pact community is proud to take the celebrations directly to the people. Join us in marking the peace and unity that built our modern Union.
