The European Climate Pact will be present at Klimafolkemødet 2026 in Middelfart, Denmark – one of Denmark’s major public climate events – with an interactive citizen engagement activity organised in cooperation with Middelfart Municipality.
The main intervention will take place on Saturday 29 August in a tent hosted by Middelfart Municipality in connection with the REEEF project. Rather than a traditional panel discussion, the activity will use an open and participatory format where visitors can drop in and engage with practical climate issues through dialogue, questions, dilemmas and hands-on activities.
Topics will include everyday climate action, energy use, sustainable home renovation and local climate solutions. The activity will also create synergies with a related European Climate Pact activity focusing on children’s perspectives on home renovation.
Climate Pact Ambassadors and Partners will be invited to contribute to the activities and engage directly with citizens. The objective is to make climate action concrete and relatable, encourage exchange of experiences and solutions, increase awareness of the European Climate Pact, and connect European climate ambitions with practical action at local and household level.
