Following the invitation of Mrs. Maria Kotsakosta, Quality Supervisor of Primary Education in Chalkidiki and Education Consultant in Imathia in Central Macedonia, Greece and under the auspices of Konstantinos Kompos Director of Primary Education in Halkidiki, two experiential Climate Fresk workshops will be held for school principals and vice principals of Primary Education schools in Chalkidiki, within the framework of the “Active Citizen” initiative.
The workshops will take place on the 18th May 2026 in Nea Moudania and 25th May 2026 in Polygyros and more than 40 educational leaders are expected to participate. Climate Fresk is a collaborative and science-based workshop that promotes climate awareness, systems thinking, and collective intelligence through dialogue, teamwork, and interactive learning. Using cards based on IPCC scientific reports, participants explore the causes and impacts of climate change and reflect on the role of education in building a sustainable future.
The workshops are organised and facilitated voluntarily by Maria Mylona, Agronomist Msc, European Climate Pact Ambassador and Climate Fresk country co-Cordinator for Greece, with the support of co-facilitators Anthi Paschalidou, geologist and environmentalist, and Evangelia Savidou MD, MSc Public Health & Policy.
The objective of the workshops are:
- Strengthen climate literacy and awareness;
- Promote active citizenship and sustainability in education;
- Encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and collective intelligence;
- Inspire educational initiatives for climate action within school communities.
