“Boost Your Climate Career” is a Skills Lab event organised by Climate Circle Lisbon in partnership with the European Climate Pact. The event is designed as a capacity-building and networking space focused on developing practical and soft skills relevant to careers in the field of climate change. The format combines a roundtable discussion, interactive workshops, and structured networking opportunities.
The roundtable, titled “What Makes a Successful Climate Career?”, brings together climate professionals to reflect on career pathways, key competencies for success, and evolving definitions of impact in the climate field. It is followed by a series of hands-on workshops led by experienced practitioners, where participants engage in small-group settings to develop concrete skills and actionable next steps for their professional development. Each participant has the opportunity to attend two workshops.
Workshop topics include: working in NGOs, climate policy, climate entrepreneurship, transitioning into the climate sector, and returning to land-based work and regenerative practices. The sessions are led by professionals from diverse sectors, including NGO leadership, climate entrepreneurship, policy, law, architecture, and regenerative systems. The objectives of the event are to make climate-related careers more accessible and inclusive, strengthen participants’ practical skills, facilitate knowledge exchange between experienced professionals and emerging talent, and foster networking within the climate community.
The event particularly aims to support individuals at different stages of their career, including those entering the climate field, those seeking to pivot, and professionals interested in mentoring or hiring within the sector.
