As an Ambassador of the Climate Pact, I will make it my mission to spread a systemic thinking approach aiming at involving the entire community in positive and sustainable behavior change processes based on each different territory needs detected and possibilities.

Operationally, I will promote awareness raising, collaborate with the already existent climate networks at a local, regional, national and international level aiming at having a continous dialogue pertaining to best practices.

I'm a project manager and a climate change and human-nature relationship expert, and a great part of my job is to lecture about climate change, sustainability, natural resources conservation and environmental protection. Many of the projects I coordinate are aimed at involving national and international stakeholders (both public and private) in the green transition, by creating an efficient environmental communication strategy and using different methodologies and strategies ranging from citizen science activities to participatory processes.

As an Ambassador, and a passionate environmentalist, my commitment and actions are dictated by a real need to make a difference and open up spaces for inclusion based on the principles of climate and environmental justice for the benefit of all the species living on the Planet. 

My action is driven by the desire to help people looking at the incredible variety and mysterious characteristics of the natural world. As only knowledge will boost people's actions.

As an Ambassador I would like to reach everyone in our society, as well as the hard-to-reach groups in our society. It is a wish to make everyone aware of the climate issues. Ultimately, we all benefit from a cleaner, better and healthier climate, for ourselves and certainly for our children and grandchildren. For many people it all seems far away, but nature's clock is ticking.  I will continue to share and acquire knowledge through my network to reach as many citizens as possible. 

Many people believe that the incineration of green waste is harmless. But that is not the case. Because the green waste is too moist, the combustion temperature is too low. The result is incomplete combustion, in which harmful substances with partial carcinogenic effects as well as large amounts of lung-damaging particulate matter are produced. I want to inform people and convince them of better solutions.

As an EU Climate Pact Ambassador, I will use my skills in training your students and researchers in the energy field. Promoting renewable energy, carbon capture and storage and the EU Energy Strategy and EU Green Deal. I have more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector which is recognized to be the most impactful on climate. I was a reviewer of the 6 IPCC Assessment Report and I am a winner of a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship on the development of new technologies for carbon capture.

After finishing the PhD, Andere Basterretxea founded POLYKEY together with her colleague Coralie Jehanno as a spin-off with great potential in the field of bio-based plastics and chemical recycling of plastics.

Their motivation is to offer to the platic industry a catalog of materials designed to address current needs of polymer chemistry field and boost the circular economy the plastics. They promote R&D activities that comply with the strategic sustainable objectives.

I am the founder of a cooperative regenerative farm, that we try to expand to other regions in Belgium and beyond. The prime motivation is to find a localized, sustainable and resilient food production system. We therefore reach out to stakeholders in other regions, to other stakeholders (such as other activists, but also scientific institutions). Although the farm itself is just a farm, its holding organisation has a wider mission and we try to sensitize a bigger community.

My aim is to become a local hero who takes the leadership to make as many people as he can more aware about the climate change and green politics. Also, I'd like to first, advocate for green politics in my local municipality and start with  making differences here. As soon as the results are seen, I believe I can also reach success in a big city like Istanbul by moving forward by example. Lastly, I want to spread the word through education and make the green politics persistent through generations.

Encouraging cultural education, offering opportunities for youth to develop their personal skills, building their capacity, becoming active in new perspectives of self-value. Teaching youth to be inclusive, more active, self-respecting, citizens of value. With strong environmental ethics in all activities, collaborate with partners in areas related to natural resources protection, not only in training activities but in the support and preparation of environmental awareness activities for youth. 

I'm a philosopher and I decided to take action against climate change starting with school students. My projects aim to make young students (ages 12-13) aware of the strong power they have in taking action against climate change, influencing parents and friends. I started from two schools in Abruzzo, Italy, but I want my project to be an example to others. 

Some years ago, I also started working with the University of Ferrara on Circular Economy projects, in order to find the best way to communicate how to change the process of industrialization into a new approach, eco-design for example. The entrepreneurs do not immediately understand how useful it is to reduce gas emissions, reduce waste, etc... until they connect it to the advantage that being carbon-free is directly linked to better living, a better future for us all, and also an increased value of the brand.

University Researchers are a unique and rich source of information that can be applied with success to solve the problems of the companies. Together they are a great team to face the new challenges of this ecological transition and not only.

Following Your Europe, Your Say 2021 and becoming a YEYS climate ambassador, I have featured on BBC Radio Humberside and BBC Look North to raise awareness regarding climate change, and I hope to continue making appearances in the future. I have created social media pages to raise awareness and to educate the younger generation regarding the climate crisis, in particular how green and renewable approaches to life can slow down the detrimental consequences of global warming and climate change. 

I defended my master's degree in Building Science with the focus on "Sustainable Building and Low Energy Building Design".

I dealt with the assessment of Building Energy Performance Before and After Refurbishment, conducted Airtightness Tests, Thermal Imaging as well as Simulations. The main issue that I have confronted in practice was incorrect approaches on planning energy efficient buildings.

Thus we have started an initiative improving that with the help of Process Optimization & BIM to BEM.

Since 2014 I’m a youth worker: I have engaged in different social, cultural and environmental projects related with active citizenship, ecology and sustainability, mostly from YiA and the Erasmus+ program. It was through these opportunities, that I understood the importance of including young people and communities in decision-making processes. Plus, through E+ projects, I would have the possibility of sharing climate education, but also sustainability knowledge and skills with young people.

As a worldly-renowned environmental/climate economist, as an Ambassador, I will put the spotlight on Climate Change issues in Portugal, and serve as a bridge between civil society, interested stakeholders and the EU. This will be done through the development of strategic thematic partnerships (e.g. sustainable transportation, energy, oceans) that bring together all key stakeholders to identify challenges and develop solutions that facilitate the implementation of the EU Green Deal.

My aim is to reach out to all people who are believing in God and his creation from a christian perspective under consideration of preservation of all beings. My main target groups are all people who are living in a church community, the dean`s, pastor`s, youth groups, the church based environmental officer`s, complete church districts as well as bishops and the church managament and the NGO I am working with. My motivation is based in the oecumenical peace movement in the former GDR.

As Ambassador I would like to focus on the relevance of climate friendly behaviour in order to raise people's awareness on the "poetic" beauty of the night sky and the importance of the climate to preserve to ability to observe stars, constellations and all astronomical objects above our planet.

Advocacy and engagement activities could be carried out with local / national associations during periodical "Start Party", with schools and in collaboration with Agencies such as ASI and ESA.

As an Ambassador, I will advocate the role of Environmental Protection in Cancer Prevention. I represent VHIO, where I will engage health experts and disseminate through already existing channels (e.g., scientific, patients, general public). I will promote staying connected with nature; clean environment is the key for healthy life (fresh-air activity, healthy food access). I would like to actively contribute to the better planet not only for me, but also my young children.

I am originally from the Souss Valley, South west Morocco, that experiences now severe drought & water shortage. This had trigger since long time ago my deep and sharp consciousness about climate change impact (even before it becomes a public topic). I pledged to myself 15 years ago to act at my personal level, as well as with all others for whom ecology matters, to spread the awareness about climate change and how our acts can help in the global effort. I want to plant trees again in my region!

I am a Master student in Law and Sustainable Development and becoming an Ambassador has always been my dream. Ecology, sustainability and climate change are fundamental topics to discuss with people in order to find solutions together. Here, that is why I want to create a network and to help people from different countries, backgrounds and ages to communicate, share ideas and make this planet a better place to live in.
