I am a keen supporter of the EU's climate goals, and happy to contribute to their realisation in both my personal and professional lives. I have co-authored a number of city climate action plans and try to 'walk the talk' in my everyday life. I will focus on any hybrid personal-professional action I can undertake to further support the Climate Pact, especially by sharing my knowledge with citizens, enterprises and local authorities.

As a professor in geo-information, entrepreneur and board member of Rafina-Pikermi municipality, it is my duty to support young people and local communities to move towards a sustainable urban environment. I believe we must plan our cities and activities to respond to local and global challenges towards environmental, economic and social sustainability.

Over the last years, we have seen a multiplication of extreme climate events. These events have had a major empirical impact in Science as they found a direct and intersectional link between social-economic background and exposure to vulnerabilities.

My mission is to to materialize this link into Public Policy and Law: to provide credible and concrete information to government and create a channel of interaction between low-income communities and law-makers.

As an Engineer, I'm quite aware of the possibilities the new technologies offer to reduce the carbon footprint in all areas of business activity. Although everybody knows we have a problem with the global warming, most of the small and medium companies aren´t still aware of the potential they have to reduce the global emissions. I intend to spread this message, and help the companies to seek the best solutions to reduce their carbon footprint and become part of the solution.

I have the networks of my own city, province, and kingdom in my hands. I am an ambassador for active and conversational. I want to arouse people’s interest and actions for a better environment. Clean water, good breathing air, locally produced food raw materials, renewable energy and recycling are themes I want to promote.

I want to use examples to encourage municipalities and cities to take action. We can take advantage of the latest technology and digitalization.

I switched to an Electric Vehicle (EV) as I wanted to do my part in protecting climate. But I felt I needed to do more. That’s why I started convincing other drivers to join me and start driving an EV via Uber Green.

I’m looking forward to sharing my experience from the road through the Climate Pact forum. I want to share my feedback on EVs and e-charging infrastructures with other drivers, and inspire them to switch to greener transport.

The Cyprus Energy Agency (CEA) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization, founded in 2009. CEA has become an information point for the local society, providing education and vocational training. It participates in projects in partnership with local, European, and international organisations, contributing to innovation, research, and sustainable development. It supports local authorities in developing their climate mitigation and climate change adaptation plans.

As a consultant for climate protection and decarbonisation, every day I work actively with companies to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. In my work, I often notice that there are knowledge gaps about different measures contributing to climate protection. That's why, in my role as an Ambassador, it's important to me to communicate relevant scientific findings in an understandable way, especially to young people, and to bring people closer to a carbon-neutral society by empowering young leaders of tomorrow.
