Meet our Ambassadors

My name is Sophie. I am from Germany and I truly believe in the power of people to create a sustainable and healthy planet for us all. As a Climate Pact Ambassador, I primarily want to demonstrate that a sustainable life is fun! Being particularly passionate about road cycling and sustainable food, I aim to bring two projects to life next year:

1) In the summer of 2024, I am planning to cycle through 10 Eastern European NetZeroCities to raise awareness about sustainable cities in Europe. I will interview the cities’ mayors and people and share my journey on my social media channel (stay tuned!).

2) Meeting new people is fun and trying new vegan recipes is fun! So why not bring both together? I want to create a platform to organise vegan running dinners across Europe. People can sign up to find others in their city and share vegan recipes (stay tuned as well!).

As a Climate Pact Ambassador I will use my platform as program host, moderator and key note speaker to highlight the Pact and push for climate action in all pillars of society. 

I plan to connect my daily work with the Climate Pact of the EU. I will take a humanitarian scope and I will connect information on the impact of the climate crisis with future crisis perspectives, bringing in prevention and preparedness approaches. I will also bring the EU Climate Pact to civil society organisations, and to local agendas, especially schools and the education sector. Climate is a global issue, but giving visibility to local actions and giving voice to local actors will be my most immediate commitment.  Finally, I will work with other Pact ambassadors, contributing to a collective positive impact for this common agenda.

With close to 20 years in finance, dealing mostly with long term relationships with HNW clients and provide them with investment and wealth management advice, I got the understanding of the fact that, on the long term (but not only!), economics and the environment are inextricably linked. Therefore, I decided to extend my knowhow in ESG factors analysis, valuation and investment decision-making.

I want to be involved in global and national action on climate change, but I never forget the small, daily steps that are so important in this fight. My mission is to inspire positive change. Through engaging workshops and online events, I educate young individuals about sustainable living, emphasising the importance of climate action. Active on social media, I leverage its reach to amplify awareness. I want to inspire young people, so they can join me on this creative journey toward a brighter future, one inspired by the SDGs and fueled by youthful energy!

The European Molecular Biology Laboratory's sustainability journey is motivated by the societal need to tackle climate change and driven by the enthusiasm of our staff. Life science research in Europe has a huge environmental impact, but it has been slow to respond the crisis. Using my experience as a sustainability professional and my organisations reputation and commitment to sustainability, I hope to drive other life science research organisations to start their own journey.

Based in Annemasse, Haute-Savoie, I am an impassioned advocate for environmental justice, intertwining my legal expertise with a fervent commitment to climate action and education. Currently an intern at the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions, Governance Branch, of the UN Environmental Programme in Geneva, my career spans various pivotal roles, formerly being an ESG Consultant. A holder of an LLM in Environmental Law from the University of Melbourne, and Bachelor of Laws from King's College London, I leverage my educational and professional experiences to empower communities through knowledge, especially in the legal frameworks related to climate change. As a Pact Ambassador, I will extend my endeavours to elevate climate awareness, implement knowledge-sharing initiatives, and inspire collective educative action towards a sustainable future, with a particular focus on the intricate interplay of climate change and legal structures globally.

I am a data-driven sustainability advocate and the founder of a start-up that helps organisations to walk the talk when it comes to sustainability. I am passionate about using data and technology to solve big issues like climate change, and I am committed to raising awareness and educating others about the importance of sustainability and ESG.

As a Pact Ambassador, I plan to use my skills and experience to help the Pact achieve its goals of building a more sustainable world. I will do this by writing blog posts and articles about sustainability and ESG, giving talks and presentations to businesses, schools, and other organisations, collaborating with other Pact Ambassadors to develop and implement new initiatives, and helping the Pact to develop and implement its own sustainability and ESG strategy.

I am confident that I can make a significant contribution to the Climate Pact as an Ambassador, and I am excited to work with you to build a more sustainable future.

Gosia is experienced in the development and implementation of digital marketing & communication strategies, corporate social responsibility strategies, and internal change management processes. She gained experience in corporate, start-up, and non-profit sectors, which gives her a unique and rich perspective on various types of organisations, ways of working, and objectives.

He is Director of Climate Change at the Chairman’s Area of Iberdrola, leading the team activities on:

Analysis and development of climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies;

• Prospective studies and policy research on climate change and energy (electrification, renewables); energy prospective (technology, regulation, policies); transport, climate change and air quality;
• Participation in the UNFCCC process under a wide perspective: COPs, climate summits, NY Climate Week, Talanoa Dialogue, National Determined Contributions,
• Building alliances, multi-stakeholder and institutional partnerships: active participation in international energy and climate alliances such as the WBCSD, Corporate Leaders Group, International Energy Agency, Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition of the World Bank, UN Global Compact, Powering Past Coal Alliance...

He is also President of the Spanish Platform for Clean Air, Vice-president of the Spanish Green Growth Group, Vice-president of the Spanish Association of Energy Economic, member of the board of Energy Economics, Director of the MBA in Energy Business at Enerclub, and founder of the initiative Dialogues on Energy and Sustainability.

He has published several articles in national and international media and participated in public debates on energy and climate change, mitigation and adaptation strategies, energy prospective and climate and energy policies showing the challenge and opportunity in fighting climate change, the technical and economic viability of decarbonizing the energy model needed to fight climate change and its co-benefits in  terms of more secure and affordable energy, improving air quality, preserving biodiversity, reduce energy dependency and job creation. My aim is to create a greener, sustainable and more peaceful Cyprus and a healthy planet for the next generation. This especially relies on strengthening the cooperation on climate change between Greek and Turkish Cypriots, as well as encouraging youth's democratic participation in the process. Therefore, aim to to elevate the voices of young people from the two communities, and to encourage the emergence of innovative and sustainable climate policies and ideas through building peace.

I'm a mother of two, a botanist and an agricultural engineer. Ecology and living beings have always played a central role in my life. The catalyst for my commitment to sustainability was my professional experience in heavy industry, where I worked in waste recovering. My interest in sustainability led me to Decathlon, where I was able to start from scratch to raise awareness among teams, customers and the general public, as well as develop new processes to make rental, second life and repair accessible to the many and profitable for the company.

With our Veggie Association, we want to influence citizens by showing them

- Change is sometimes easier than we think.

I plan to organise activities which contain spechees about climate change to those who are not yet involved in climate action. As a deputy mayor of envrinoment I want to engage with other local communities on environment-friendly practices, events and thematic discussions. I also plan to exchange knowledge and try to find climate solutions via my duties as a young elected politician in Brussels.

My aim to raise awareness and engage with climate education, by emphasising the role of the youth in fighting climate change, which I wish to continue doing as a Climate Ambassador. Given the existential threat that the climate crisis poses, I believe that it is imperative to learn and re-learn the ways that we interact with climate emissions as individuals and as groups, which I believe can be effectively carried out through research and community awareness.

I would describe myself as an European citizen who is aware of the climate crisis, and decided to take action in 2017. I have realised that everyone can make a difference and be part of the solution, no matter the personal background, knowledge or professional skills. I have also learnt that, for big challenges, it is better to join forces with others rather than walking alone. My strongest skill is communication, for this reason I believe I could play a role as Ambassador raising awareness, creating inspiration and sharing science-based knowledge. I live in Asturias, a region in which a fair transition to decarbonisation is essential due to its industrial heritage. The role of a Climate Pact ambassador could be essential here. I have also built a personal reputation regarding sustainability in my company, Bridgestone, which belongs to the mobility sector which will embrace important changes to achieve its ambitious decarbonisation targets.

I fight for the Earth, our ocean and all living beings that inhabit it. My purpose is to make this world a better place by protecting endangered species, giving a voice to nature, advocating for animal rights and working for a healthier and more sustainable planet through my environmental projects: Ocean Diversity, The Earth Is Us, Free Wild Great Apes and Saving Our Lives. 

I work as a scientific outreacher, dietitian and food technologist.

During 2021 and 2022 I will be specially focused in diets which could fight climate change from different platforms:

I am a young entrepreneur in sustainable development in circular economy. When I look around and see everything that is being thrown away and everything that is causing global warming, I wonder what kind of future we are going to leave for our children. For this, I decided to bring my stone for a sustainable future.

I will create activities to upgrade waste and I deploy all my teams to find solutions to limit CO2 emissions.

I am a passionate climate advocate with extensive involvement in human rights and sustainable development initiatives. As a European Climate Pact Ambassador, I am committed to promoting sustainability and environmental awareness. Through collaborative workshops and digital campaigns, I aim to reach marginalised communities, emphasising the importance of a green transition. My objective is to bridge the gap between knowledge and action, ensuring everyone is informed and empowered to make climate-conscious choices.
