Full professor of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health at UCSC in Rome.Always involved in global health projects, just signed a collaboration agreement with Unesco Biosphere Reserve of Monte Peglia to carry out scientific research projects aimed at protecting human and planetary health. We will focus on the important correlations between environmental and human health, such as the consequences of pollution, climate changes, unsustainable eating patterns on the health of populations.

As an EU Climate Pact Ambassador, I will continue my scientific work in elucidating how environmental factors influence human health, as well as designing actionable tools to harness this epidemiologic knowledge to improve the population health status. Furthermore, my University and I commit to continue to promote educational and dissemination activities on climate change and its health consequences. Eventually, as an Ambassador, I am sure that I will have more power in advocating to reduce the ecological footprint of my university (locally) and to promote stronger policies to enact an ecological transition in the health and government institutions (regionally and nationally).
