Responsibilities

European Climate Pact Ambassador in Slovenia

My ultimate goal is to leave the world more sustainable than I found it - both as an individual and as the President of the Management Board of an energy company. How? By driving the rapid decarbonisation of electricity supply for our customers, with 100 % renewable and CO2-free electricity accessible for everyone, thereby supporting awareness, understanding, and wider mainstreaming of renewable energy. I believe in leading by example, through dynamic and imaginative yet practical problem solving approaches that enable us to encourage and empower others to help proactively shape a sustainable, green and prosperous future – because the challenge of climate change can only be overcome collectively.

Engineer, academic and the former President of the management board of an energy company, Robert Golob became a Climate Pact Ambassador in 2021. As an Ambassador, he has taken part in many Climate Pact initiatives, such as the Make Your Move campaign, which promoted the benefits of sustainable methods of mobility.

Since joining the Climate Pact community, Robert Golob has achieved notable success in the political world. In 2022, he became chairman of the Freedom Movement (formerly known as the Green Actions Party prior to Mr. Golob’s leadership). In the Slovenian parliamentary elections that took place in April 2022, the Freedom Movement won 41 out of a total of 90 seats and the following month, Mr. Golob was elected by the National Assembly as the new Prime Minister of Slovenia, leading a three-way coalition of parties.
