AHEAD Foundation for Societal Advancement

The AHEAD Foundation for Societal Advancement is dedicated to advancing climate intelligence, foresight and community resilience. Founded by the team behind Malta’s first Climate Digital Twin, AHEAD bridges the gap between science, policy and citizens by transforming complex environmental data into practical and actionable insights. 

Its mission is to empower communities and decision-makers to anticipate and adapt to climate challenges through innovation, education and collaboration. AHEAD develops and applies digital-twin simulations, nature-based and ethical geoengineering solutions, and foresight frameworks such as Climate Command, which visualise risks including heatwaves, floods and sea-level rise in accessible ways. 

Its activities span research, public awareness, and capacity-building, ranging from youth resilience programmes and climate foresight workshops to participation in Horizon Europe Mission Adaptation and the CivicAI project.  

AHEAD engages a wide range of stakeholders, including regional and local authorities, universities, EU institutions, civil society organisations and youth networks across the Mediterranean. Through these partnerships, it promotes data-driven climate action that strengthens preparedness and solidarity within the European Climate Pact.
